People's postcode trust

The People’s Postcode Trust have made a grant of £9000 to Scarborough & Ryedale MRT for the replacement of team members waterproofs and climbing helmets.

The People’s Postcode Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Members of the team are volunteers who give their time freely to both attend callouts and training with the rescue team. The kind of work this entails often means working in rough and hazardous terrain. As a result of this the outdoor clothing and equipment used by team members does not have the same life span that you would normally expect.

The team recognises that team members already give a great deal to the team in terms of their time and tries to limit the financial impact of being a team member by providing high quality waterproof clothing and climbing helmets for our members.

This year we have been extremely fortunate to receive a grant of £9000 from the People’s Postcode Trust which has enabled the team to purchase 30 sets of waterproofs and climbing helmets for our members.

People’s Postcode Lottery is Britain’s charity lottery. Players play with their postcodes to win cash prizes while raising money for good causes.  As a charity lottery, £2 from every monthly lottery ticket benefits charities and community initiatives across England, Scotland and Wales, including People’s Postcode Trust.  People’s Postcode Lottery believes in supporting local communities so the money raised by players in each country, stays in that country.
