Falcon Flyer 2012 – fact of the day

Ganister, once mined on Stony Marl Moor is,  hard, fine-grained quartzose sandstone, or orthoquartzite,  used in the manufacture of silica brick typically used to line furnaces.  The short route passes over Stony Marl Moor on the way back to Ravenscar.
