⭐ Join the Support Team
Make a Difference Without Going on the Hills
Our Support Team is a group of dedicated volunteers who play a vital role in keeping SRMRT running smoothly. You don’t need to be a hillwalker or a first responder — just someone who wants to help your local Mountain Rescue team in a meaningful way.
💙 Why We Need Support Team Members
While our operational team responds to emergencies on the moors, the Support Team ensures everything behind the scenes works exactly as it should.
Support Team members help with things like:
Represent the team
Representing SRMRT at fundraising events, shows, and community days
Helping maintain and organise important team equipment
Maintaining equipment
Helping maintain and organise important team equipment, ensuring that it is ready to use 24/7
Specialist support
Helping with admin, marketing, or specialist skills (IT, photography, vehicle checks, kit prep — whatever you’re good at!)
Behind the scenes support
Playing a key role during major callouts by helping with tasks at the base, such as helping to washing vehicles and muddy kit after callouts.
This work directly supports life-saving operations, and it’s every bit as important as being out on the hill.
🙌 Who Can Join?
Anyone aged 18+ who wants to support the team.
You don’t need specialist skills — though if you have them, that’s a bonus!
What matters most is reliability, enthusiasm, and being happy to volunteer a bit of your time for the community.
🚨 What the Support Team Doesn’t Do
This role is non-operational — Support Team members don’t go out on callouts.
If you’re interested in becoming a hill-going operational volunteer, keep an eye out on our website or follow our social media and we’ll let you know when we are looking for applicants.
