SUMMARY:DALBY's INFERNO 2025
DESCRIPTION:DALBY’s INFERNO and the 12 circles of suffering. Yes\, 12 circles! \nNow in its 4th year this superb event is going from strength to strength. \nA back-yard style ultra marathon which usually consists of 10 5k laps starting and finishing at the same location. \nThis year however\, there will be 12 laps of 5km making 60km in total. \n2025 marks the 60th Anniversary of Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team\, so to help celebrate this achievement we decided to make the total distance 60km. \n“Fantastic event\, really well organised. Enjoyed the challenging & varied route & the support from all the marshalls was much appreciated as was the superb soundtrack. Will definitely be back next year. Thanks to everyone involved in hosting” \n“First ‘ultra’ distance event for me. Great event with brilliant organisation. Thanks to all involved. Didn’t know what to expect or how it would go. Lots of great chat on loops 1-9. Highly recommend this event; I’ll be back” \nThis event will sell out very quickly\, so… \nAre you prepared for the burn…? \n\nA 5km forest loop.\nStarting on the hour.\nEvery hour.\nFor twelve hours.\n\nIn the forest depths \nhow long can you go \nbefore time catches you? \nAre you ready for the Roots of all evil? \nCan you handle No Worries hill? \nThis is an event for all levels of fitness – one in which you can really challenge yourself to go further than you normally would\, whether you’d be aiming for two laps or all ten. \n  \nLast year over 80% of runners completed all 10 laps. \nAnd if you’ve ever wanted to own the kudos of an ultra marathon\, then this is your chance to try in a supportive setting – managing all 12 laps is 60km; an ultra is anything over 42.195km… \nThe fee includes entry to the event\, free entry into Dalby Forest (usually £10 per vehicle)\, plus two nights camping on the Fri and Sat night – and you’re welcome to bring a friend or your family along too to support you (they can camp too). It’s designed to be both social and challenging\, and a great outdoor adventure weekend to look forward to! \n  \nRace format \n\nBased in Dalby Forest\, this race follows a beautiful\, not-exactly-flat (109m ascent) 5km trail loop through the forest.\nOnce the start gun goes off\, you have one hour to complete the lap.\nIf you manage\, you can start the next lap\, which sets off exactly on the hour again.\nIf you don’t manage\, you sit out the next lap\, but can still start again on any following ones after that\, up to and including the eleventh lap.\nIf you manage all eleven laps\, you gain entry to the twelfth and final lap.  The ultimate burn\, in this final lap you’ll be racing\, legs on fire\, for a finish in a blaze of glory…\n\nHow many times can you endure the circle of suffering? \nIncluded in the entry fee you get free entry to the forest\, free camping at Adderstone on Friday and Saturday night (toilets/fresh water at site\, no showers). \nCamping is same location as start/finish. \nWe have an area at the Start/Finish for you to relax and refuel between laps. It is large enough to erect a small shelter and you can bring a friend to support you. \nNO BBQ’S. \nThe route will not be published before the day of the event – fully signed and marshalled on the day. \nStart time – 9am\, strictly. \nRegistration on Friday night from 6pm to 9pm or Saturday morning from 7am to 8.30am. \nFree camping in the same field as start on Friday and Saturday night. Approx 100m from start. We will have \nhard standing for campervans. \nHot food and drinks available to buy on the day. Fresh water available. \nChance to pre-buy an event tech T-shirt at £20 when entering online. NO T shirts to buy at the event. \nSee T shirt design in banner. This is only available when you pre-order. 2025 design complete with exclusive Team 60th Anniversary logo. \nSpecial 60th Anniversary gift for ALL competitors. \nMinimum age is 16 years \nNo dogs allowed on the run. (they are welcome to camp IF well controlled) \nNo deferrals or refunds.

SUMMARY:Summit Stories
DESCRIPTION:Event Information \n\n\n\nJoin us for an inspiring evening of off-piste adventure\, celebrating the spirit of exploration across ski mountaineering\, climbing and mountain biking. The programme features breathtaking short films created by elite athletes and filmmakers from around the world\, showcasing raw landscapes\, bold lines and stories that will stay with you long after the credits roll. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFilm Programme \n\n\n\n150 Hours From Home – Faction CollectiveSkiing was born here. For thousands of years\, nomadic herders in Mongolia’s Altai Mountains crossed vast peaks and plains on wooden skis—long before the modern sport existed. In this latest Faction feature film\, the team traces skiing back to its origins\, travelling 150 hours from home into the heart of the Altai to reconnect with where it all began. \n\n\n\n10 in a Weekend – Blair Aitken (British Backcountry)A bold Scottish mountaineering challenge to hike\, ski and showcase the UK’s ten highest mountains in a single weekend.Blair Aitken\, alongside Gavin Carruthers and George Treble\, tackle some of Scotland’s finest ski descents in a race against the clock—aiming to complete the journey and return to Edinburgh in time for work on Monday morning. \n\n\n\nWorth It Every TimeA distinctly Scottish ski film celebrating resilience\, local talent and the determination required to ski in conditions that are rarely perfect. Rather than endless powder days\, this film captures the “bloody-mindedness” that defines Scottish skiing and the unique rewards that keep people coming back season after season. \n\n\n\nDolomites – CommencalAfter fifteen years of experience\, Kilian Bron takes on the most exposed and demanding lines of Italy’s Dolomites. This film offers an inside look at the dedication\, trust and preparation required for high-alpine mountain biking at its most extreme\, while reflecting on the friendships and connections formed along the way. Dolomites marks the beginning of a new trilogy\, with future adventures leading into the mountains of Nepal. \n\n\n\nThe Last Forgotten ArtIs crack climbing the last forgotten art? This beautifully shot film explores the creativity\, commitment and physicality required to master off-width climbing—where hand jams\, chicken wings\, wedged knees and full-body wriggles are all part of the challenge. Following climbers Mel\, Vicky and Steve at Ramshaw Rocks in the Peak District\, the film celebrates a niche but passionate corner of the climbing world. Directed and produced by award-winning filmmaker Jessie Leong\, The Last Forgotten Art is a story of connection—to self\, to nature and to the bonds formed through sharing a rope. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis curated collection of films is presented in collaboration with the filmmakers and producers to raise vital funds for Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team. The team not only supports local adventurers when things go wrong\, but also carries out day-to-day searches and rescues away from the beaten track. \n\n\n\nTo mark the occasion and support the team\, there will be an exciting raffle on the night\, with prizes generously donated by the film producers and local supportive businesses. Prizes include a brand-new pair of Faction Dancer skis\, merchandise\, signed books\, meal and activity vouchers\, and much more. \n\n\n\n\nTickets available here

SUMMARY:Dalbys Inferno 2026
DESCRIPTION:The 10 Circles of Suffering \n\n\n\nNow in its 6th year\, Dalby’s Inferno continues to grow in reputation as one of the most memorable — and addictive — endurance events in the calendar. \n\n\n\nThis is a backyard-style ultra marathon set deep within Dalby Forest\, built around a deceptively simple concept:ten laps\, ten hours\, one relentless loop. \n\n\n\nFor 2026\, the route has been modified to increase the distance\, making the challenge even tougher for those brave enough to take it on. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Challenge\n\n\n\n\n5.5km forest loop\n\n\n\nStart on the hour\, every hour\n\n\n\nUp to 10 laps\n\n\n\nTotal distance: 55km\n\n\n\n\nA lap must be completed within the hour to be eligible to start the next one. Miss the cut-off and you’ll sit out — but you can still re-join later laps\, right up to lap nine. Complete all nine and you earn your place on the tenth and final lap — the ultimate burn. \n\n\n\nHow long can you last…before time catches you? \n\n\n\nCan you face the Roots of All Evil? Can you handle No Worries Hill? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor Runners of All Abilities\n\n\n\nDalby’s Inferno is designed to be both inclusive and brutal. Whether your goal is two laps or all ten\, this event lets you push further than you thought possible. \n\n\n\nIn 2025\, over 80% of runners completed all ten laps. And if you’ve ever wanted to claim the kudos of an ultra marathon\, this is your chance — 55km comfortably qualifies. \n\n\n\nWhat’s Included\n\n\n\nYour entry fee includes: \n\n\n\n\nEntry to Dalby’s Inferno\n\n\n\nFree entry to Dalby Forest (normally £10 per vehicle)\n\n\n\nTwo nights of free camping (Friday & Saturday) at Adderstone\n\n\n\nCamping in the same field as the start/finish area\n\n\n\nHard standing available for campervans\n\n\n\nToilets and fresh water on site (no showers)\n\n\n\n\nOne tent or campervan per entry. Family and friends are welcome to camp and support you throughout the event. \n\n\n\nEvent Atmosphere\n\n\n\nThis is as much a social endurance weekend as it is a race. There’s space at the start/finish area to relax and refuel between laps\, erect a small shelter\, and soak up the atmosphere — with the support of fellow runners\, volunteers and a legendary soundtrack. \n\n\n\nHot food and drinks will be available to purchase on the day. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRace Format\n\n\n\n\nLocation: Dalby Forest\n\n\n\nLoop: Fully signed and marshalled (route not published in advance)\n\n\n\nStart time: 9:00am sharp\n\n\n\n\nRegistration: \n\n\n\n\nFriday: 6:00pm – 9:00pm\n\n\n\nSaturday: 7:00am – 8:30am\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\n\n\n\nMinimum age: 16 years\n\n\n\nNo dogs allowed on the run (well-behaved dogs welcome in the campsite)\n\n\n\nNo BBQs permitted\n\n\n\nNo refunds or deferrals\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent T-Shirt\n\n\n\nA high-quality technical event T-shirt is available to pre-order only for £25 when entering online.Order cut-off: 03/05/26There will be no T-shirts available to buy on the day. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRunner Feedback\n\n\n\n\n“Fantastic event\, really well organised.
