DESCRIPTION:The 10 Circles of Suffering \n\n\n\nNow in its 6th year\, Dalby’s Inferno continues to grow in reputation as one of the most memorable — and addictive — endurance events in the calendar. \n\n\n\nThis is a backyard-style ultra marathon set deep within Dalby Forest\, built around a deceptively simple concept:ten laps\, ten hours\, one relentless loop. \n\n\n\nFor 2026\, the route has been modified to increase the distance\, making the challenge even tougher for those brave enough to take it on. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Challenge\n\n\n\n\n5.5km forest loop\n\n\n\nStart on the hour\, every hour\n\n\n\nUp to 10 laps\n\n\n\nTotal distance: 55km\n\n\n\n\nA lap must be completed within the hour to be eligible to start the next one. Miss the cut-off and you’ll sit out — but you can still re-join later laps\, right up to lap nine. Complete all nine and you earn your place on the tenth and final lap — the ultimate burn. \n\n\n\nHow long can you last…before time catches you? \n\n\n\nCan you face the Roots of All Evil?Can you handle No Worries Hill? \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor Runners of All Abilities\n\n\n\nDalby’s Inferno is designed to be both inclusive and brutal. Whether your goal is two laps or all ten\, this event lets you push further than you thought possible. \n\n\n\nIn 2025\, over 80% of runners completed all ten laps.And if you’ve ever wanted to claim the kudos of an ultra marathon\, this is your chance — 55km comfortably qualifies. \n\n\n\nWhat’s Included\n\n\n\nYour entry fee includes: \n\n\n\n\nEntry to Dalby’s Inferno\n\n\n\nFree entry to Dalby Forest (normally £10 per vehicle)\n\n\n\nTwo nights of free camping (Friday & Saturday) at Adderstone\n\n\n\nCamping in the same field as the start/finish area\n\n\n\nHard standing available for campervans\n\n\n\nToilets and fresh water on site (no showers)\n\n\n\n\nOne tent or campervan per entry. Family and friends are welcome to camp and support you throughout the event. \n\n\n\nEvent Atmosphere\n\n\n\nThis is as much a social endurance weekend as it is a race. DESCRIPTION:Remembrance Sunday – Sunday 8 November 2026Start time: 11:02am(Two-minute silence observed before the start) \n\n\n\nThe Dalby Dash 10K is a special Remembrance Sunday trail run held in honour of our service men and women. Set in the stunning surroundings of Dalby Forest\, the route combines smooth tarmac and well-maintained hard trails\, offering a beautiful and accessible course for runners of all abilities. \n\n\n\nThe event is delivered in association with Pickering Running Club and is proudly supported by Pickering Rotarians\, Veterans’ charity Rock2Recovery\, and Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA Proven\, Friendly Event\n\n\n\nThe 2025 Dalby Dash was a fantastic success\, raising an incredible £6\,000 for our supported charities. The atmosphere was positive and welcoming throughout the day\, made possible by an outstanding team of volunteers\, marshals and organisers—coordinated by Sharon Lynn—alongside the efforts of Pickering Rotary and SRMRT\, who ensured everyone stayed safe. \n\n\n\nThis is a friendly\, volunteer-run trail race\, with a great memento for every finisher. It’s no surprise that Trail Running Magazine listed the Dalby Dash as one of the most beautiful races in Britain. \n\n\n\nThe Route\n\n\n\nThe race starts outside the Dalby Forest Visitor Centre at Low Dalby. Runners head out along a firm tarmac climb up Housedale—the only significant hill on the course\, taken at a steady gradient. A special prize is awarded to the first male and female runners to reach the top. \n\n\n\nFrom there\, the route continues along the ridge on fast gravel trails\, before a long\, flowing descent down to the beck and a final “Dash” back to the finish line. \n\n\n\nEntry & Value\n\n\n\nThe Dalby Dash 2026 offers excellent value and includes electronic chip timing. \n\n\n\n\n£18 – England Athletics club members\n\n\n\n£20 – Non-club runners(plus booking fees)\n\n\n\n\nAll entry income goes directly towards organising the event and raising funds for our charities: \n\n\n\n\nPickering Rotarians (supporting North Yorkshire charities)\n\n\n\nRock2Recovery\n\n\n\nScarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT)\n\n\n\n\nYour entry also covers the forest car entry fee\, and runners are encouraged to bring family and friends at no extra cost to enjoy a day out in Dalby Forest. Every finisher will receive a commemorative memento. \n\n\n\nTransfers & Refunds\n\n\n\nPlease note that entries are non-refundable and non-deferrable.
