The Scarborough & Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team is a totally voluntary organisation. It exists to help save lives and assist injured and distressed people in the area of the North York Moors National Park. Charity Number: 1174125 The Team is run on a purely voluntary basis, members receive no payment or expenses for their services. It costs in the order of £40,000 per year for us to maintain the service we provide.
- The direct running costs of EACH of our three vehicles is approximately £2,000 per year (add in depreciation and it is closer to £5,000 for each vehicle).
- Each call out costs the team in order of £375 (that does not include personal fuel costs for team members attending or loss of earnings).
- Internal training costs average £300 per team member per year.
- It costs us around £100 a year to provide personal protection equipment for each team member.
Currently the Team is open for commercial sponsorship of equipment, running expenses and fundraising events. If you are interested in having your organisation sponsor the Team, please contact us.
Donations – Money or Equipment
The Team is always pleased to receive donations. Our annual running costs are around £40,000 and we also have a rolling programme of capital projects for things like vehicle replacement.
