This weekend Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team and Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team both benefited from kind donations from the East Yorkshire Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA).

The money was raised from the LDWA December challenge walk, Rudolph’s Romp, a 24 mile event over the East Yorkshire Wolds.

The cheques were handed over by Bob and Margery Ingram on behalf of East Yorkshire LDWA at the teams annual joint training event centred on Chop Gate Village Hall on Saturday the 10th of March.

Bob and Margery are both Honorary Life Members of SRMRT after long and varied periods as active team members and are acutely aware of the contribution such funds will make to the team.

The £1500.00 donated to Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team will be specifically be used to procure or replace rucksacks to transport medical and rescue equipment within our three team vehicles and then to allow team members to carry such equipment to find sites.

The pictures show team members from both teams, along with Bob and Margery, receiving the donations during a pleasant spring evening in Chop Gate Village Hall car park.
