As with other teams in Mountain Rescue England and Wales we expect a large number of our Operation team members to be ‘Casualty Care’ trained or higher. Earlier in the month sixteen of our team proved their competence in this award. A number were renewing the qualification and a number taking it for the first time. During the December exercise, yesterday, we took an opportunity to present the successful team members their Casualty Care certificates to recognise this effort.
The qualification consists of a significant number of hours theoretical and practical training, practical evidence of BLS skills, a theory examination and two practical assessments (one trauma and one medical).
Well done to all those who passed and we will catch up with the others to present their certificates some time in the near future. Also thanks to the trainers and assessors for all their hard work.
