Scarborough Red Cross recently took delivery of a Fire and Emergency Support vehicle and today their volunteer crew took the opportunity to visit North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Scarborough station to demonstrate their capability.

Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team have been working on a memorandum of understanding with the Red Cross to allow us to make use of this facility so we popped in to formally sign the agreement.

A prime consideration when we are deployed on search and rescue operations is the welfare and safety of our team volunteers and that of the family and friends of those lost, injured or in distress. We see the service the Red Cross provide as an invaluable asset to help support our activities during such protracted searches and in inclement weather.
