Touchdown Offices select SRMRT as their Charity of the Year
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue; a highly valued customer of Touchdown Offices, are a voluntary organisation who play a vital role in saving lives by responding to an increasing number of incidents of a wide-ranging nature each year.
“SRMRT’s inspiring mission to help is one that appeals to us on multiple levels. The team provide an invaluable service to those in and around North Yorkshire. When I met with Ian Hugill and Andrew Priestley, I was truly impressed by the diversity of the rescue operations that the volunteers undertake. The call outs range from those injured or lost in remote places, to river searches, to those stranded in their vehicles in bad weather. These highly trained volunteers are truly inspirational, giving up their personal time to assist those in need, 365 days a year,” explained Danielle McLeod, Commercial Manager, Touchdown Offices.
SRMRT’s heavy reliance on mobile phone services, as well as an increasing need for reliable communications led them to Touchdown Offices back in 2012. The area, terrain and low density of population in their patch meant that mobile communications were often difficult, if not impossible and they were in search of a solution to the teams’ communications problems.
Since trialling Touchdown’s Strongest Signal SIM,whichcombines the power of the major UK mobile networks by intelligently switching between them to provide the best signal available, they have successfully maintained communications to deployed personnel, enabling teams to take control of even the most challenging of communications environments.
“Touchdown Offices have supported the team for a number of years and we were delighted when Danielle approached us recently to offer significant sponsorship for the team along with the provision of some key water safety equipment and GPS microphones for a number of our VHF radio sets. We wish to thank all at Touchdown Offices for their generosity and look forward to a continued long and mutually beneficial relationship,” Ian Hugill, Incident Controller and Public Relations Officer, SRMRT.
