We and our neighbouring team (Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team) had a busy evening yesterday.
Cleveland were already deployed on a tasking when they were called to a missing walker overdue in the Chop Gate area to the west of the North York Moors. They were in the process of handing that call over to us when the walker in question checked in late but safe and well.
We put the phone down from that one to be called almost immediately by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the rescue of an injured 14 year old mountain biker in Cropton Forest. Thirteen team members deployed to be stood down on route as the local air ambulance was on scene and had recovered the person in question.
