The Team is required to log details of all incidents attended and report them to the Mountain Rescue Council of England and Wales. Incidents tend to fall into three categories:
- A Search – the Team is called out by the Police (or another Team) to search for a person or persons reported missing.
- A Rescue – the Team is called to assist the Ambulance Service in evacuating a patient from a remote or inaccessible location.
- Event Cover – the Team has on occasion assisted other organisations who run outdoors events in our area. We provide communication and search/rescue support for the event.
The incident summaries for each year will give you an idea of the sorts of things we deal with on a regular basis.
As you’ll see we come across a wide range of problems, and our training and equipment is continually evolving to cope with an ever-increasing workload.
